Teacher
Elizabeth has been practicing Buddhist mindfulness since 1973 and founded the St Louis Insight Meditation Group in 1996.  She studied mindfulness formally in both the Zen and Theravada traditions while living in Asia for 10 years until 1982.  After returning to her home in the San Francisco Bay Area, she studied with Jack Kornfield and the American Theravada lay community until moving to St Louis in 1995. She completed Spirit Rock Center’s Community Dharma Leader training program in 2002 and has taught mindfulness in both traditional (Theravada) and secular settings (Monsanto Co.).  Elizabeth emphasizes mindfulness in everyday life.

 

 

Psychotherapist
Elizabeth Fryer, MA, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, has been practicing psychotherapy since 1985.  She has a graduate degree in Transpersonal Counseling and is  licensed in both California and Missouri.  She has postgraduate training in depth psychodynamic object relations theory and is certified in Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP).  A San Francisco native, she has had the opportunity to train with leaders in the field of transpersonal psychology including; Steven Johnson (“Characterlogical Transformations”), AH Almaas (The Diamond Approach), Helen Palmer (Enneagram), and Ron Kurtz (Hakomi).  She specializes in bringing the principals of mindfulness to depth developmental psychology in service of realizing inner truth & well being with adults and couples in private practice
